This Privacy Policy refers to the current valid legal situation. We expressly reserve the right to make amendments or adjustments. We therefore recommend that you visit this section of our website regularly to stay updated about any changes to the processing of the personal data.

Website Visitors
When you visit our Website the processing of your personal data is technically required to display the website and to ensure its stable function and security. Such collection of data helps us to track errors and ensure a long-term rectification of errors. In addition, the processing serves to improve the quality and development of the website, to increase the user-friendliness, to prevent and remedy of unlawful use of the website content and statistical analysis.
The following personal data are transmitted from your browser to our server and are stored in so-called logfiles:
- used IP-address
- date and time of the access
- website form which access occurred (source/reference from which you accessed the page)
The legal basis of the processing and stored logfiles is an overriding legitimate interest of SUAS (Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR) in ensuring the functionality and security of the website.
Data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer needed for the purpose for which they are processed, at least after 90 days. In order to support and improve our online presence, specialised service providers in the areas of website design and online marketing work for us, who are given access to your data as data processors. However, your data will not be forwarded to third parties.
Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer with the help of your browser. They are downloaded by your browser the first time you visit a website. The next time you visit this website using the same terminal device, the cookie and the information stored in it is either sent back to the website that generated it (first party cookie) or sent to another website to which it belongs (third party cookie). This enables the website to recognize that it has been called up before with this browser and in some cases varies the content displayed.
Cookies are generally used to offer users additional functions on a website, e.g. to make it easier for you to navigate the website or to save preferences (language or similar settings). Cookies cannot access, read or modify any other data on your computer.
With regard to the storage period, a distinction is made between so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when you leave our website, and permanent cookies, which remain stored on your computer until you manually delete them in your browser.
Contact via E-Mail, Letter, Telephone or Fax
If you contact us, we process the information and data which you provide to us (name, personal master data, contact data, case-specific information about your request, possibly technical transmission data) in order to process your request. If the data is processed for other purposes, you will be informed separately (e.g. in the context of an upright business relationship, when applying as a student or employee).
We process your data, depending on the occasion, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit a GDPR), a pre-contractual or existing contractual relationship (Art. 6 para. 1 lit b GDPR), a legal obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 lit c GDPR) or overriding legitimate interests of SUAS (Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR).
The data processed in this context will be deleted after the purpose for which it was processed has ceased to exist, unless another reason requires a longer storage (e.g. a legal or contractual obligation). For technical support, we use various IT services which, as processors, may have access to your data (e.g. in case of support, cloud storage, etc.).
Data protection information for events
Event registration and participation
We processes the data you provide when registering (name, company, e-mail address, telephone number) as well as any data collected during the event in order to process the registration and hold the event. This includes, among other things, the sending of information on the procedure, any changes, sending of documents relevant to the event.
The data processing is carried out on the basis of the (pre-)contractual relationship with the Alpine Building Center in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
We also use your contact details to send you information about similar events. This processing is based on an overriding legitimate interest of the Zentrum Alpines Bauen in an exchange of information about current events and offers (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). You can object to this processing for marketing purposes at any time.
If the workshop is held by external speakers, we will forward your personal data to them.
Your personal data will be stored for as long as it is necessary to achieve the respective purpose (e.g. 7 years for accounting-relevant data, during valid subscriptions to the information offer).
Photos/Videos
In the context of the event, SUAS might take images or video recordings on basis of an overriding legitimate interest in the documentation, reporting and publication of the event (Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR).
By registering and voluntarily participating in the event, the participants acknowledge that SUAS has the right, free of charge, to use the recordings for PR and marketing purposes, also in edited form and with/without naming in print and online for publication on its own public website, on social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), in publications of SUAS (e.g. campus newspaper, annual report) and for press releases.
Within this processing, the photos will be transferred to service providers (e.g. printers, media owners, etc.) where necessary.
If images or videos are published on our social media channels, data may be transferred to third countries (especially the USA). The TADPF (Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework) came into force on July 10, 2023, which means that an adequacy decision with the USA has been in place since this date. In this context, however, it is not possible for Salzburg University of Applied Sciences to rule out the risk of US authorities gaining access to your data for control and monitoring purposes
Selected recordings of the event will be archived for the duration of SUAS’ existing to represent the event, the remaining recordings will be deleted shortly after the event.
In order to avoid any images or video recordings of your person, it is possible to consult the organisers and position yourself outside the recording area.
Data security
We take all necessary and appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from loss and misuse. Your data is stored in a secure, state-of-the-art operating environment.
Access to our websites is secured via HTTPS if your browser supports SSL. This means that communication between your end device and our servers is encrypted.
The personal data you enter or disclose is protected against unauthorized access by encrypted transmission, access-protected storage that is not accessible from the outside and physical protective measures for the servers. The security measures are continuously revised in line with technological developments. Such measures include SSL encryption, regular software and hardware updates, permanent server monitoring and backup management by the jointly responsible parties.
