Hosted again by the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, the event received scientific support from the Forest Products Society, the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

More than 80 participants from 16 countries and 4 continents gathered for one and a half days on the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences Campus in Kuchl to attend over 50 presentations across 6 sessions and 4 keynotes, visit a poster exhibition with 15 contributions, and exchange professional insights.

Building on the successes of previous conferences held in locations such as Freising, Germany (2018), Kuchl/Salzburg, Austria (2010, 2014), and St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA (2012, 2016, 2021, 2023), this biennial event fosters discussions and networking among educators, researchers, and producers in the forest and bio-based product industries. It acts as a catalyst for advancing research, development, and manufacturing applications and serves as a platform for innovative experts to exchange ideas and knowledge on wood processing, engineering, modification, and sustainable utilization.
